A Letter to a Friend

A Letter to a Freind

My Dear Friend,

Some days ago you emailed me a reply to my email to you. Reflecting on your words I enjoyed slowing down my thoughts, and therefore am using the very old-fashioned way of writing letters—using paper and my fountain pen to send you my reply.

While waiting for the ink to dry, I remembered the many deep talks we had sitting in the sand at the ocean shore or hiking in the mountains. I felt all the lovely times at your place with a fire burning in the fireplace.

We both value our friendship, and our sometimes different opinions about life are always so inspiring—together with laughter, and tears, we always welcome moving forward in our relationship, as well as on our soul paths.

What more can I ask of friendship than a friend who shares my soul’s path? You comfort me when I am sad, and share my joy when I am able to move forward. You listen to me when I need you, and help me when I am stuck in old ways. Knowing that your care for me is never about helping me to live a comfortable life, but an encouragement to stay strong in myself and live in the strength of my soul. This makes me feel so abundantly rich, and loved, and held.

Your letter to me showed me an important difference between a “message” where the words will reach mind and intellect and even heart-filled emotions, and a message that is written from the strength of my soul. Even with the best of intentions, when my words are not infused with the pure light of my soul, they lack the all-embracing light connecting wisdom—no matter how important my message is.

This is what you pointed out for me, my dear friend. This is what I discovered reflecting over your letter—I had covered my soul!

It is so much joy to ponder and share the light of our soul paths! I am looking forward to more soul communication with you—it always leads me forward.

Thank you for sharing the integrity of your soul with me.

Much love to you my friend,

Betty

P.S. Please check your calendar! I’m longing to stroll with you again at the seashore!
