I am very excited to say that we are almost on our way to Europe! In just one week Siska and I will be traveling to Norway to meet Siv Roland and Kaja Magnussen. Siv is a New Equations Certified Soutlype Instructor and the third member of The Sound Aligners; and Kaja is a New Equations Certified Teacher and runs Kaja’s Peace Hub. New Equations has been planning this trip for a long time – and all of us over at headquarters are thrilled that it’s going to become a reality so soon!
We have many reasons for our travels. Siska and Alan will be teaching many workshops, they both will be facilitating a NEATO retreat in Norway – but first and foremost we are traveling to compose nine new and original New Equations symphonies in the magic of the present moment.
We won’t be composing in Oslo, but instead we will be traveling to one of the most northern and remote islands in Norway (which is saying a lot because.. well…. it’s Norway!) This location is all thanks to Marit Kildal (a New Equations Trainee) who grew up on the Island of Sandsøya, and told Kaja Magnussen of her wonderful childhood home.

Harstad Tidene, the neighboring island town’s newspaper wrote an article about our upcoming concerts in which Kaja states how Marit was able to convince her that Sandsøya was the next place to go to compose –
“The process of getting Sandsøya into the global tour started two years ago. Marit Kildal, who was born and grew up on the island, sat on the stairs of her summer house and thought – it must be possible to create something here – and since she knew Kaja she thought she would contacted her.
Kildal started to talk about the otter that plays in the surroundings, about the northern lights that dance over the sky and the snow that made it possible to take out the sled. I got chills when Marit talked about Sandsøya. Magnussen thought, I want to experience this.”
And so Kaja talked to Siska, and the trip preparations began!
The island of Sandsøya
We will be doing nine concerts in total, and three of them will be open to the public. We are looking forward to being able to share our music with the people who live on the island, as well as others in Norway who choose to visit the island to listen.
As with all of our concerts, The Sound Aligners have not prepared the music beforehand, there is no sheet music – the music comes in from the Universe and is played in the moment. One of the other reason that we picked Sandsøya was because of the incredible energy that is present on the island.
What many people don’t know is that the energy of where New Equations Music is composed has a big effect on the outcome of the music – this is the reason we are always traveling to such unique locations (Great Pyramid in Egypt, Mt. Fuji in Japan, Hawaii with the dolphins, etc.); and it’s not just the location that is important, but also the energy of the people who are present for the composition makes a big difference (that could be you!). This is because the music is composed in the magic of the present moment, so whatever the energy of the moment is (including people and location) matters a lot!

If you’re in Norway and you happen to be in the Neighborhood, we would love to have you join us for our concerts. You can find out more information about them on our individual concert event pages for November 10th, 11th, and 12th (scroll down on each page for English).
As a wonderful surprise for us, our last concert happens to coincide perfectly with the island’s annual holiday crafts fair! So, if you would like to make a day trip out of your concert viewing – you can travel early to Sandsøya to check out what the locals have made, maybe do some holiday shopping, and then relax and listen to some music especially for you from the Universe =)
I hope to see you there!

These pictures, along with the delight about them, are a joy to see and think about.
