Every morning I take a walk, as I’ve mentioned in other blogs, to my favorite bench that overlooks the Rhine Valley, the mountains of Switzerland, and a bit of France. For 1½ years I have been enjoying the quietness of this morning atmosphere, diving into the always-changing sensations each day presents. Sometimes I do the Spiritual Postures, or read, daydream, or listen to what the Earth wants to let me know. I align to myself and prepare for the duties of the day ahead.
Something happens while benching . . . my relationship to Earth changes. It seems that I redefine my home – the place where I live – meaning our Earth.
The Earth seems to sense our new relationship and releases her all-knowing truth about life. Her energy opens into me – a vast library of information. She tells me her stories, her hidden codes, knowledge, and wisdom, that are stored in the ground, stones, water, mountains, trees, and valleys.
I begin to understand that when I am in a loving relationship with Earth, when I truly love her, her response is to release to me everything that I need to know and everything I need to experience. Then the Earth feels like my home – my real home – and I feel more alive.
She is so willing to share her wisdom, knowledge, and truth. She wants me to thrive and be connected to all that is.
I restore her beauty by loving her, and she restores my beauty by loving me. As I am benching and listening to the songs of birds creating symphony upon symphony orchestrated for the moment, I believe in myself, and a momentum is created that will continuously shine light into my life.
Within the vastness of our universe, I have a place to dwell: the Earth. A majestic Home.
PS: Sitting on the bench loving the Earth, I feel her integrity wanting to connect with the integrity of me. I feel how my gratitude towards her sustains me with new trust. Talk to Earth, and she will answer! The art of benching might begin a new love affair . . . I invite you to find out!
