A fire burning on the beach

During my visit to Norway with New Equations this past April, I was out on a hike near the Airbnb where I was staying, and I came upon this sign. I had to laugh because it showed so many options for which way I could go to continue my walk through the beautiful Norwegian landscape.

I have been a student of New Equations for 22+ years now, and there have been many choice or decision points along the way during my journey with New Equations. I have witnessed much of the development and evolution, and have also seen many students of New Equations come and go. As I reflect back on my own experiences over the years, the main theme of my reflections seems to be that I am deeply grateful that I made the choice again and again to continue my journey with New Equations and have found ways to make that choice possible.

New Equations is so unlike anything else out there. I am always completely fascinated each time a new direction is explored, and a new discovery is made. It was in 2015, during a New Equations trip to Egypt, that the Spiritual Postures Practice was first shown to us. Then, when we visited each ancient site—the pyramids, the Sphinx, the Luxor Temple, Saqqara, and many others—we did the Spiritual Postures Practice together as a group. The experience of connecting with each other and aligning with the earth, the universe, and humanity, in each ancient Egyptian sacred place was incredibly spiritually enlivening. Each time I do the Spiritual Postures Practice now, I feel that the connection and alignment I experience builds on the solid spiritual foundation that was created in Egypt when we first learned about them.

So, in considering the question with which I began, whenever I have an opportunity to make a decision as to which way is the right way, in that moment, at that point along my path, making the choice that brings me into more physical alignment with my soul’s wisdom and expression is always the right one for me.
